Malaghan Institute of Medical Research
Kylie is Head of Research Technology at the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research (MIMR), Kylie has worked in cytometry for 14 years and is responsible for creating New Zealand’s most advanced cytometry core facility, the Hugh Green Cytometry Centre (HGCC), which includes flow and spectral cytometry, microscopy, histology and bioimaging. Managing a shared resource laboratory with four staff members, she provides more than 70 MIMR research scientists with expertise and access to cytometry instrumentation to advance their research goals.
Her goal is to contribute her expertise to enhance scientific understanding and to provide better health outcomes for those suffering from disease.
Founder & CEO
Siobhan is Founder and CEO at Melon Health. She founded Melon in 2012 and has grown the company to what it is today, employing 20+ staff in NZ and the US. Working between California and Wellington, Siobhan leads the company which leverages social technology to provide a platform that engages patients in their own care, enabling human connection, scalable healthcare and better outcomes. Siobhan and her team believe in working on stuff that matters.
Siobhan’s background includes being a Trustee of the NZ Games, Animation and Visual Effects Trust, a charitable trust comprising of a group of digital media professionals dedicated to advancing the Games, Animation and VFX industries in NZ; an advisor for BetterBiotics and has previously been a Mentor at Lightning Lab.
Darryn is the Chief Executive of FarmIQ, an AgTech software company. FarmIQ was spun out of a PGP (govt partnership) and is rapidly growing into an information platform for New Zealand agriculture. FarmIQ helps farmers optimize farm performance and tell their story to capture a premium from high end consumers.
Darryn’s passion for New Zealand’s primary industries was cemented while still at school when he started work on a dairy farm. He trained and then practiced as a rural veterinarian for five years before picking up his other interest in business.
Prior to FarmIQ, Darryn worked for Pfizer Animal Health in the UK and NZ, then Fonterra for several years in on-farm strategy. He is a past Director of Pfizer New Zealand and is currently an independent director of the Pastoral Greenhouse Gas Research Consortium.
