The Latin American CAPE is one of three Centres of Asia Pacific Excellence that utilise university expertise and networks to enhance trade and economic linkages between New Zealand and North Asia, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, respectively.
We develop tools and programmes that enable New Zealand to engage effectively in the Asia-Pacific region. By drawing on local and global university knowledge to enhance connectivity between government agencies, businesses, education, iwi and communities we deepen New Zealand’s understanding of the Asia-Pacific and its many cultures and languages.
We do this by disseminating university-based knowledge through innovative interventions such as:

Supporting start-ups to explore new markets
The CAPEs are an initiative supported by a consortium of New Zealand’s leading universities: the University of Auckland, the University of Waikato, the University of Otago, and Victoria University of Wellington.
