Kia ora koutou

This time last year the nationwide COVID-19 lockdown was in full swing. The news was full of community cases, job losses, hibernating businesses, and economic relief. Fast forward a year, and we have travel bubbles opening up, international tourism resuming, businesses bouncing back and a far rosier economic picture. We also have the return of the national celebration of tech and innovation, Techweek 2021, in-person after a virtual event last year.

Sustaining Global Ambitions for Tech Success is the theme of an event we’re hosting as part of Techweek 2021 later this month. The event will also mark the launch of our 2021 Investor’s Guide to the New Zealand Technology Sector, which makes a strong case for investment in New Zealand's technology sector, drawing on data from our annual TIN Report.

We’ll find out why New Zealand represents an exciting opportunity for start-up founders and funds, investors and investment companies.  We have all the right ingredients to maintain and grow our critical mass of technology exporters and to further cement our world-class tech ecosystem with access to capital, a deep talent bench, and an ever-increasing number of success stories – many of them fuelled by the global pandemic.

Register here to secure your spot at the Generator on Thursday, 27th May – I look forward to seeing you there!

Ngā mihi
