It was my privilege to catch up with members of Navman’s leadership “dream team” last Monday at the excellent Grow North summit. For me, this group of highly successful tech leaders epitomize the term “success breeds success.”

After the sale of Navman, Sir Peter Maire has gone on to be involved in multiple NZ tech firms including Invenco and Fusion Entertainment. Likewise, former Navman partners Chris Baird (Fusion Entertainment), Steven Newman (EROAD) and John Scott (Navico), have applied their winning formulas to their current tech ventures. It’s encouraging to see that regions like Grow North are helping connect industry captains with innovative startups in order to share their valuable scale up know-how.
