Welcome to October, and this week’s issue of TINWire —
It’s now just over two weeks until the launch of our 2017 TIN Report, so if you haven’t yet registered for the Auckland event, get in quick! Our guest speaker is Peter Beck, CEO and founder of Rocket Lab, which made news again last week with the announcement of its second test-launch window. The company continues with its ethos of “dreaming big” and we’re thrilled to have Peter on stage to help us launch this year’s Report.
One of the new features we’ll be bringing you in this year’s TIN Report is a profile of New Zealand’s growing Māori tech ecosystem. We examine those sectors that are flourishing and note the new levels of engagement by Maori tech companies that are emerging, with the confidence that they will play an even greater role in the global tech community.
In other areas of the tech industry this past week, we’re seeing double-digit growth in the game development sector, fuelled by the development and publishing of original game IP. Lastly, Christchurch is positioning itself as an international testbed for green innovation with the recent roll-out of a fleet of self-driving shuttles.
Enjoy TINWire, and have a great week.
