I’m pleased to announce that in the midst of what’s been an especially challenging time across New Zealand, the 2021 TIN Report is now available!

This year, TIN surveyed a sector that had experienced a full year operating under the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic – and what we discovered is inspiring. The New Zealand tech sector is not only moving forward and growing, it is proving itself to be unstoppable, gaining speed, critical mass and global investor attention, ahead of its long-term growth trajectory.

At the same time, there have been many challenges. While some companies have thrived in a COVID-19 world, others have struggled simply to stay afloat while others have downsized - and it’s the story of that very real journey that we endeavour to tell every year in the TIN Report.

We heard some of those stories last week when we were joined by a cross section of the NZ tech community for the virtual launch of the Report last Thursday. It was especially a pleasure to have Peter Beck, CEO of Rocket Lab, share with us some of the insights of his company’s growth and development over the last year, which set the stage for us hearing more about the high revenue earning companies that are our 2021 award winners.

We’ve also been thrilled at the reception we’ve received to the Report itself, and below you can read a selection of the media coverage, and what the data is telling us.

Of course, the best place for you to dive into the TIN Report for yourself is through the e-Book version that is now available for purchase online, or the print edition which will be released before the end of the month.

In it, we look back on what’s been an eventful year with hopes and ambition for the further growth of the NZ tech sector into 2022.

Kia kaha Aotearoa!

Greg and the TIN Team.
