Lockdown has forced us all to think a little differently, and for us at TIN this has meant hosting our very first virtual TINTalk. Our panel discussed the strengths and learning opportunities presented by the NZ healthtech sector and we revealed the findings of the inaugural HealthTech Insights Report.
Roughly 200 people joined us online as we heard first-hand from industry leaders how now, more than ever, the world needs effective solutions to big health problems. New Zealand has built a tech ecosystem that can support the innovation that’s needed, both doing what we already know best, as well as creating new responses. If you missed out, you can watch the event recording or read the recap.
COVID-19 has presented one of the biggest opportunities in our lifetime for healthtech to lead New Zealand’s economic growth, and I believe it will gain traction very quickly with the right focus. Lockdown may have forced us to recast an event, but it certainly hasn’t stymied our sense of excitement at what lies ahead.
Meanwhile, it’s that time again … the annual TIN survey for 2020 will be sent to more than 1,000 Kiwi tech companies in the next few days! Watch your inbox, and be sure to make some time over the next two weeks to complete it so that we can consider your company for the 2020 TIN200 list. For those companies who may not have been surveyed previously, you can check the inclusion criteria and request an online survey form.
For an opportunity to dive deeper into the discussion around how we can fast-track NZ’s tech sector growth to accelerate economic recovery, TIN members can join us at the upcoming Slingshot event. Register now, or enquire about TIN membership.
The need for data and discussion to understand the current state of NZ’s tech export sector has never been more important, and we encourage as many tech companies as possible to participate in the survey, and join with TIN as we seek to move the tech sector forward together.
Kia kaha,
Greg & the TIN Team
