The events of the past ten days have united New Zealanders in a sense of sadness and repulsion and sent shock waves around the world. Our deepest condolences go out to the family, friends and co-workers of the victims of the atrocities, to the people of Christchurch and to all fellow New Zealanders as we firmly reassert our shared values of compassion and celebration of diversity.

Two members of the Christchurch tech community lost their lives – Lazyworm Applications co-founder and CEO Atta Elayyan and Intergen senior dynamics developer Syed Jahandad Ali. I would like to pause and honour all those lives lost, and leave you with the words of Simon Bright, Intergen’s CEO, “At Intergen, we are proud of our cultural diversity. We hold dear our values of acceptance, tolerance and openness. I am proud to be working in a company where people care and stand against hatred of any kind.”

Kia kaha, Christchurch,

Greg & the TIN Team
